What the act is
This is a corrigendum to Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 of 12 July 2023 concerning batteries and waste batteries (the Batteries Regulation), published in the Official Journal on 10 April 2026 (OJ L, 2026/90285). A corrigendum corrects the published text of an existing act; it creates no new obligation and changes no date.

- Type: Corrigendum
- Corrects: Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, page 108, Annex XIII, point 1(q)
What it corrects
Annex XIII lists the information a battery passport must contain. Point 1(q) is the entry for the battery's marking requirements. The published text referred to "the marking requirements laid down in Article 13(3) and (4)"; the corrigendum replaces this with "the marking requirements laid down in Article 13(4) and (5)", so that the passport entry points at the right paragraphs of the labelling and marking article.
The substance is unchanged: from 18 February 2027, every EV battery, light means of transport battery and industrial battery above 2 kWh placed on the EU market needs a battery passport carrying the Annex XIII information, including the marking requirements that apply to it. Our Annex XIII guide walks through the full list.
What it means for businesses
Nothing to do beyond making sure any internal documentation that quotes Annex XIII point 1(q) cites Article 13(4) and (5). If you rely on the consolidated text on EUR-Lex, it already incorporates the correction.
