A Digital Product Passport (DPP) is a structured dataset that contains key information about a product, including its materials, manufacturing process, sustainability data, repair instructions, and end-of-life guidance. Under the EU's Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), DPPs will become mandatory for products sold in the EU market, starting with iron and steel (2028), then batteries, textiles, and tyres from 2027.
