Fans Ecodesign Regulation (EU) 2024/1834: September 2026 Corrigendum

MyProductPassport · Sep 04, 2026 · Updated Nov 03, 2026 · 3 min read

What the act is

This is a corrigendum to Commission Regulation (EU) 2024/1834 of 3 July 2024, the ecodesign regulation for fans driven by motors with an electric input power between 125 W and 500 kW, which repealed Regulation (EU) No 327/2011. It was published in the Official Journal on 4 September 2026. A corrigendum corrects the published text; it introduces no new requirement.

Key details

  • CELEX number: 32024R1834R(04)
  • Published: 4 September 2026
  • Full text: View on EUR-Lex
  • Type: Corrigendum
  • Corrects: Regulation (EU) 2024/1834, page 10, Annex I, point (14)

What it corrects

Annex I, point (14) of the fans regulation gives the reference air density used in the efficiency definitions. The published text read "1 200 kg/m3"; the corrigendum replaces it with "1,2 kg/m3" (1.2 kilograms per cubic metre, the density of air under standard conditions). The original figure was a typographical error a thousand times too large.

What it means for businesses

Manufacturers of fans in scope of Regulation (EU) 2024/1834 should check that their efficiency calculations and technical documentation use 1.2 kg/m3, which every test laboratory will already have assumed. No date, threshold or information requirement changes. Fans are energy-related products regulated under the old Ecodesign Directive's implementing measures, which carry over into the ESPR framework; there is no digital product passport requirement for fans.
